SQL Server 2019 - Error while installing SSAS (Tabular) RRS feed

  • Hi,

    Trying to install SSAS (tabular) using SQL Server 2019 CTP 2.4. Getting error during installation. Analysis services not starting.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Per your description, maybe SSAS service account doesn't have enough permission to execute the service, so you need to change service accounts which have admin system permission and see if it overcomes the issue.

    Or you install SSAS at C Drive path and see if it works.

  • If link above by Av111 DBA (uninstalling SSIS, changing paths to default) doesn't help
    then please check the log for errors (link at the bottom of your installation screen)
    and Windows (Server) logs (event viewer).
    It might contain additional information about why it fails.

    I have no problems with installing CTP 2.4 with only single element: SSAS_Tab
    (not adding components, just new) on freshly deployed Windows 10 x64
    as Named Instance (custom name) with all default settings.

  • I have not installed any SSIS component on this server. But I have changed DATA, LOG directory folder from default C: to D:.

    After changing startup account to NT login with local administrative privilege, it got installed successfully. I was installing it using default startup account.
