How to handle compatibility view websites in custom browsers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone, I am developing an IE browser, and the control used is IWebBrowser2. When processing a site that has been added to the compatibility view, I set the document mode to IE5, but the interface display is different from IE browser. Although I use the document.compatMode command to get the replacement mode.

Compared with IE browser, two main differences are found

    1. The console of Internet Explorer will output html1201: is a website you've added to Compatibility View. My own browser does not have this output.

    2. In the document mode of the simulation, a certain sentence below the IE browser prompts-"Via local compatibility-view settings". My browser does not have this prompt.

Do I need to do something with Compatibility View when I develop IE?

  • Hi Rafael_c,

Can you post enough code and tell us the details steps to reproduce the problem?

Whether the website content (layout) displayed differently? When the IE browser prompts popup?
