error message when trying to print a large report "an error occurred during printing (0x80004005)" RRS feed

  • Question

All of my reports print without issue except for one. The one report that suddenly won't print is the biggest report in regards to the number of pages (170 pages) and the amount of functionality provided within the report. All of the other reports on the report server are anywhere from 3 - 25 pages.

This report use to print without issue but users recently start receiving a message box stating "an error occurred during printing (0x80004005)" after the first few pages print.

I'm not sure if it's related to the windows update that caused the "Unable to load cliient print control" error everyone was receiving (outlined in this link..... ) but this error never occured until after the upgrade to SP 2 for SQL Server 2005 (KB921896) and the fix (KB954606) for the "unable to load client print control" error.

I've read many threads (including this one )but the only solution I've seen for this error was for RS2000. The solution is located at this link but I don't see a fix for SSRS 2005. Is it because this fix was included in SSRS 2005?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Prasad - Does it only occur on large reports or does it occur on all your reports? I'm able to print small to average size reports without any issues.
