PowerPivot with different data types in rows RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm new to using PowerBI and PowerPivot. What I want to do is create a pivot table where some of the rows use a different data type than the column. The columns would be months and the rows would have revenue in dollars and contracts in whole numbers. Is this possible? Thx!

  • A column as one defined data type, you can not mix it over the rows. The only way is to use data type string, but then you can not use it for meanfull calculations.

  • No this is not possible and would not work well with PowerBI or PowerPivot. What you are describing sounds like 3 columns.

    eg.

    Month   Revenue      Contracts
    Jan-19    1234.56     78
    Feb-19     222.33      44
