Not able to connect to SQL server using Active Directory Password from AF V2.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • When i am trying to connect to Azure SQL server using the .net core Sql Client (version 4.5.1) by passing the Azure Active directory password i am getting the following error

     Keyword not supported: 'authentication'.
     Below is the connection string format I used.

    Server=testDB.windows.net,1433;Initial Catalog=testsqldb;Persist Security Info=False;User ID=username;Password=password;MultipleActiveResultSets=False;Encrypt=True;TrustServerCertificate=False;Authentication="Active Directory Password";

    When i use the same code, connection string in the AF V1.0 using.net framework 4.6.1 everything seems to be working. Am i missing some settings.

    Thank You In Advance,

  • Hello Manibhasuri,

    Azure Functions V2 builts on top of .Net Core and AFAIK SqlClient for .NET Core still does not support using the 'Authentication' keyword in the connection string. That should work when this issue is actually fixed.
