What are "hours" in the Cosmos DB pricing calculator? RRS feed

  • Question

  • First of all, I've read the entirety of this:

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/cosmos-db/

and I still don't know the answer, so please do not just link it. In the pricing calculator for Cosmos DB, under provisioned RUs, it lets you input RU/s and hours. I understand RU/s but I do not understand hours. Does that mean how many hours does the database exist before I delete it that month? Or how many 1-hour periods that the database is in use?

For example, in a 30-day month, if I am reading from that database from 8:00am-8:30am every day but it is inactive the rest of the day, would I input 30? Or 15? Or 720?
