Purchase SQL

Question
-
I have a new client who wishes to purchase SQL. It seems crazy to buy 2008 R2 when release of 2012 is just around the corner. Is there a fixed date for the release of 2012 yet, or is it still up in the air? Is there some way I can get a temporary license to last until 2012 is released

You can try Metro - Early Adopters Program to start using the SQL Server 2012

Infact, SQL Server 2012 RC0 is out in market for usage. Try downloading that from this link. By the time it gets expired, the RTM version would be out for which there will be specific plan of pricing associated wth it.

March 7th seems to be virtual launch of SQL Server 2012. Refer to this link for more details.
