    Hi friends,

I'm creating my first  asp.net website. before that i was developing Windows application using vb. So am familiar with vb.net. When developing web application some of them suggested to use C#.net. Please suggest which one to use.

    Please refer this thread.

Which is best language C# or VB,NET? http://forums.asp.net/t/1516463.aspx/1?Which+is+best+language+C+or+VB+NET+

I feel it's just syntactical difference. It's all about comfort level which one you prefer.

Personally I prefer coding C# as my background from C and C++. Many people love coding in VB.NET as their background may be from VB6.0

Eventually It's all same. every .NET language whatever you prefer, you would need to write your code as per .NET CTS and CLS specification.

Now a days it's all simple to convert VB.NET code to C# and vice verse. http://www.developerfusion.com/tools/convert/vb-to-csharp/

Here you can find differences in syntaxe http://www.harding.edu/fmccown/vbnet_csharp_comparison.html

Just want to summarize it's all about indivisual interest. Either one you prefer, results are same. Becauase CLR runs MSIL, but neither VB.NET nor C#. So there is no impact on execution of your program.
