  • General discussion

  • HI

Recently we migrated the data between 2008 sql server version to 2017 sql server version.

Requirement came for me to check the data sync ( not structures)  between these two versions after migration.

without any  third party tool is it possible  to check the database data sync using sql script between two databases exists in different servers?

    Kindly advise

  • A simple test is to compare row count of all tables, e.g. with this script: Detailed list of all tables and their size

If you want to comapre table Content, that will require a lot afforts.

  • Hello Friend,

Normally to migrate a database, we use the 'Microsoft Data Migration Assistant' tool before it itself shows us the structure comparisons.
    Is that what you want?
