For the problem related to license, I would suggest you calling 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. For international customers, please use the Guide to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites to find contact information in your locations.

It is not supported to downgrade from SQL Server 2017 to SQL Server 2012 directly, we can install a SQL Server 2012 instance and then migrate the database and other objects to the new instance.

  • Good day,

The simplest way is to look for stores that have licenses which they did not succeed to sale. You will not get from Microsoft probably :-)

  • I think you need  to ask your local MS office support.

Do you plan to move the databases from SQL Server 2017 to SQL Server 2012?
