Get the list of users , dependencies roles on SSRS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello ALl,

We are migrating our SSRS to different server . So, we need information to be able to configure the user permissions in every report (From the parent to the child objects) like Report path, user names, user role, report name, etc. And also the information to be able to configure each data source (Ex. Service account name, sql server instance, database, etc.

Any idea how I can get this information

    Thanks

    Kundan

  • Hi Kundan,

Those information are stored in ReportSever Database. In the database, you could find all the info one by one, or you could try join them to get the info table you want.

    So,

Report path, report name, etc are stored in [ReportServer].[dbo].[Catalog]

user names, user role etc are stored in  dbo.Users and dbo.Roles. You could use:

    SELECT c.Name, u.UserName, r.RoleName, r.Description
FROM dbo.Catalog AS c INNER JOIN
                          dbo.Users AS u ON c.CreatedByID = u.UserID AND c.ModifiedByID = u.UserID CROSS JOIN
                          dbo.Roles AS r
    ORDER BY c.Name, u.UserName, r.RoleName

data source infos are stored in  [ReportServer].[dbo].[DataSource]

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Lukas
