Setting a link to a bookmark causes a jump to the start of the document RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am working on code that takes an email and its attachments and creates a single Word document. The document starts with a summary table that lists the sub-messages appended to the current message in the email and the attachments. Each item in the  table has a hyperlink to the bookmarks for the relevant item.

If I click on a table link to any of the messages it works fine but if I click the link to the bookmark at the start of the attachment the cursor jumps to the start of the document. If I use the bookmarks dialog I can successful jump to the right bookmark.

Before I get into showing my code and bookmarks I wondered if anyone knew why it was jumping to the start of the document.
