MS Azure Storage Explorer: Unable to Retrieve Child resources | This request is not authorized to perform this operation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Our contractor is getting an error when trying to browse/load Blob containers for an existing storage account with Azure Storage Explorer. This account has been used successfully before for uploading/downloading datasets. From the investigation of the contractor´s IT department, it seems that their account is active but the access to the specific folder has expired.

    Unable to Retrieve Child resources

Details: This request is not authorized to perform this operation. RequestId:e07420e8-a01e-0024-677c-6f7ffd000000

    [OK]

Any thoughts on ways to possibly resolve this are appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ed

  • Hi

Provide details on accessibility mode and check if the Storage access key/SAS  is expired if they are being used.

Try with new keys if that's the case.

    Hope this is helpful !!

    Thank you

  • Which version of Storage Explorer are you using?

Delete data from "%appData/StorageExplorer" folder or entire folder from your machine. After deleting when you launch storage explorer you will be prompted to re-enter your credentials. That should fix this issue.

Refer the following Storage Explorer troubleshooting documentation: "Unable to Retrieve Children" Error Message

If the issue still persists, Un-install and re-install the latest Storage Explorer

    Hope this helps!
