Is Silverlight for the Mac still being updated?

    Question

  • I noticed in the Microsoft Silverlight Release History here....

    https://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/locale/en-us/html/Microsoft%20Silverlight%20Release%20History.html

That there have been two new releases since the October release, but on my Mac I am not able to download either?

When I check to see if I have the latest version installed here....

    https://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx

It tells me that I have the October 2016 released version of 5.1.50901.0 and does not tell me there is a newer version available?

So, what gives are there no more updates to the Mac version?

As far as I know, the MacOS 10.7 - 10.11 (Intel-based) last support date is 12/31/2016. So, there are no more updates to the Mac version(Unless otherwise notified).

Get Microsoft Silverlight : System Requirements

Support extends through the date shown in the table or through the support lifecycle of the underlying browser, whichever is shorter. As browsers and operating systems evolve, this table may be updated to reflect changes in browser or operating system support.
