Visual Studio 2017 Crashes on debug. Locals window shows "Busy..." RRS feed

  • Question

  • Visual Studio consistently crashes when debugging.

Hitting the first breakpoint in a VB.Net Web Forms application hangs the IDE.

Locals window shows "Busy..." and never updates.

Updated VS2017 to latest version: 15.8.3 from 15.8.1 but the problem is still there.

Tried running in Safe Mode but problem is still there.

  • Hi,

Can you try deleting .suo file in your solution directory and try again?

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

Please try to close the locals window and do not open it when restart VS, then try to debug this application again, check if this issue persists or not.

Meanwhile, it seems some other community reported this similar issue to the VS Product team and you can also add a comment in there for a better support, thank you for your understanding.
