SQL Server: Differential Maintenance Plan fails RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created Backup Maintenance Plans for full, differential, and transaction logs.

I notice that the rest run without a hitch. The differential file is created, but get the following error:

Executed as user: MyDomain\dba_Acct. Started:  10:51:08 PM  Finished: 10:51:13 PM  Elapsed:  4.625 seconds.  The package execution failed.  The step failed.

The event log says the same.

When I set the maxerrorcount to 1 I get the following message:

    Message

  • I have checked the maintenance plan a dozen times. It even worked well once or twice before.

I meant where would I check 1FD37D2C-E1A5-4BD9-98EB-9998742FED98 task from the error report.

  • Hi Rick,

According to my research, 1FD37D2C-E1A5-4BD9-98EB-9998742FED98  is the task id.

1.Please check if the task with the id above exists in maintenance plan.

2.And if it exists, please check if the MyDomain\dba_Acct has correct permission to access to the task.

    Best Regards,

    Mona

  • MyDomain\dba_Acct doesn't even have access to the server where this is running. That account is used because of where the backups are saved to, since that account has access to that area. That account also runs SQL Server and agent services. MyDomain\dba_Acct to the administrators group on the server that runs that SQL Server? Where would I see the user who was access to the task?

  • Ended up recreating that subplan, since the rest worked fine. No more errors.

    Thanks anyways.
