PWA (Resource Center) vs. Project 2007 - % Work Complete Discrepencies RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    On Project 2007 (12.0.6607.1000) SP3 MSO (12.0.6718.5000)

I am having an issue where a project will have a task/milestone showing 100% complete in MS Project, but in PWA under Resource Center, the task will show 0%.

The resources are manually adjusting their % Complete and % Work Complete to 100% when finished. For my purposes, I am only interested in tracking milestones for 100% completeness.

Searched online but the only solutions I've seen are for Project 2003.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

First of all, I'm a bit confused when you say that the task show 0% in the resource center. The resource center shows no tasks but resources.

Then try to publish again the project and see if it helps.

    Hope this helps,

  • Hi, thanks for the reply.

To view the status of all tasks under the selected resource in Resource Center, I click View Assignments.

We've created a customized view, which includes columns such as Project Name, Task Name, Resource Name, and % Work Complete.

I can provide more information if needed.

    Thanks again.

  • Have you tried re publishing the project?

Is it just occuring for 1 unique project?

How do the users enter the % work complete and the % complete?

    Hope this helps,

  • Yes we've tried republishing all projects with no changes.

This problem is occurring for multiple projects for multiple resources.

For entering % complete/work complete, we have a split of users both changing the values in Project, and changing the values through PWA.

    Thanks,

  • You have to be careful that the % work complete is different at assignment level and task level, see the example below. So if you look at the task % work complete in the project plan and at the assignment % work complete in the resource center, it might be a normal behavior.

Task C % work complete is 25% where as the % work complete on resource A assignment is 40%.

    Hope this helps,
