Is SQL Server 2012 RC0 Enterprise available? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I tried to upgrade from SQL Server 2008 /2008R2 Enterprise to SQL Server 2012 RC0 but failed, because there are only evaluation and express selectable when upgrading. According to 2012 RC0 upgrade path via http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143393(v=sql.110).aspx, upgrading from 2008 Enterprise to 2012 RC0 evaluation is impossible but to 2012 RC0 enterprise is possible.

I downloaded the latest 2012 RC0 installation image, but I didn't found any option for enterprise version I could choose when installation/upgrading.   It looks currently 2012 RC0 enterprise is not available, and we have to wait to RTM or official release?

    Thanks very much.

    Br,

  • You are correct! SQL Server 2012 is not released yet so only enterprise evaluation edition is available to download.
There is a Virtual Launch event at  http://www.sqlserverlaunch.com on 7th March 2012 and product would be RTM'ed after that. Release dates not disclosed at this point but it should be soon.
