Uploading dxdiag.xml equals ERROR RRS feed

  • Question

  • Im trying to register for the tech alpha for flight simulator and im failing to upload the dxdiag.xml file needed. I've browsed through the web and unplugged different usb's and tried converting a dxdiag.txt to an XML via online converters but none of that worked. How may i solve this?

  • Hi M1lado,

Please share both your dxdiag.txt file and the desired output XML file format.

  • Hi, thanks for replying.

Could you tell me how? I'm not really seeing any option for uploading/sharing them.

  • Hi M1lado,

While replying there is a small toolbar on top.

'Insert Code Block' button will allow you to paste the content of the file(s).

  • I appreciate you trying to help me.

When i pasted the dxdiag into the code block it said i had over 60 thousand characters so it wouldn't let me submit it, instead i took a picture of them in word and uploaded them here: https://imgur.com/a/oVxyWIS . I'm sorry that the pictures aren't in a correct order but they were automatically arranged by the site.

EDIT: heres a better link for viewing the dxdiag i found out https://gist.github.com/m1lado/939851faa40d63533ad0fc3ac5bd2cf3

  • Hi M1lado,

It seems there is a better and easier way to produce DxDiag.xml file.

I launched dxdiag.exe and upon clicking 'Save all information' button selected 'Save as type: XML File (*.xml)'. Please see below:

  • What browser are you using?

I was having the same problem in Chrome, but when I tried Firefox the upload worked just fine.

  • Ok what worked for me:

    1. Disabled ad-blocker in Chrome
    2. Disabled Pi-Hole DNS Ad-Blocker (If you have one)
    3. Signed out of the Flight Sim website via the menu
    4. Cleared my cookies for the page (I use EditThisCookie Chrome plugin)
    5. Signed back in
    6. Uploaded
    7. All goood! :)

I think there are some tracking cookies which may have been blocked as I was seeing a 500 error on the upload request and a google tracking request also firing off on that page.

  • I've tried all of the suggestions above. IE, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. They all fail. C'mon Microsoft!
