Report Server Configuration Error Generating rights scripts RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We have two servers , server A is on DMZ , and server B is in internal domain

    The internal SQL Instance use a specific port like 4333

    when Trying to configure report server databases from Server A (Web server)  to Server B (Database server) "Generating rights Scripts" error Credential used is Sa connection is Ok even the wizard creates the ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB Databases but fails to step mentionned above.

    When clicking on the error : 

    System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: (0x8004005) : No such host is known
       at System.Net.Dns.InternalGetHostByAddress(IPAddress address, Boolean includeIPv6)
       at System.Net.Dns.GetHostEntry(String hostNameOrAddress)
       at ReportServicesConfigUI.RSDatabase.IsLocalDbServer(String dbServer)
       at ReportServicesConfigUI.RSDatabase.GrantRSConnectionRights()
       at ReportServicesConfigUI.RSDatabase.ChangeRSDatabase()

    Sorry to say, the description is a little confusing to me. Where have you installation the ssrs? When you creating Report Database, have you test the connection? Was it successful?

    "Generating rights Scripts" --where have you encountered this error?


    You could add more details and background , so that community members can understand you question and scenario better.

  • Hi the ssrs was install on the server A in the DMZ and the Database on server B In the internal network, also yes we test the connection the proof is the wizard was able to create the database Reportserver and the reportserverTemp database. the generating rights Scripts error is during the configuration wizard
