Error making route request (400) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm moving this question from the feedback site (https://feedback.azure.com/forums/909172/suggestions/37702582) to here where it should be posted.

    From original poster:

    This request return 400

    1. It should not return 400 if route is not found.
    2. The route should be actually found. I have the coordinates form geonames.org the Adrian and Jackson cities population is in both cases over 20000 and they are close. Why was not possible to find the route?

    Here is my request:

    https://atlas.microsoft.com/route/directions/json?api-version=1&subscription-key=MYAZUREMAPSKEY&format=json&query=41.89755,-84.03717:42.24587,-84.40135&travelMode=car&computeBestOrder=false&routeRepresentation=polyline&instructionsType=text

attached is image with the two cities this similar request is actually working and only difference are co-ordinates

    https://atlas.microsoft.com/route/directions/json?api-version=1&subscription-key=MYAZUREMAPSKEY&format=json&query=41.04172,-78.2914:40.32674,-78.92197&travelMode=car&computeBestOrder=false&routeRepresentation=polyline&instructionsType=text

  • I've taken an initial look at this issue and am able to produce it. It appears that the second coordinate is causing the issue with the request. That coordinate appears to be on a one-way road which may be part of the issue on the backend. I will pass this on to our route services team investigation.
