Database DTU Consumption is High RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Team,

We are having more than 5 S0 standard SQL databases on one v12 server. Now one of the databases shows , Database DTU consumption is high.

When we checked the Query Performance Insight, we can see that there are some queries which using more resources.

    Here is the screenshot :

Can you please tell us how can we reduce the resource utilization ? is there any way to kill long time running queries?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

Examine the query plan of those queries and optimize them as you do with SQL Server. You may find you need to create indexes, avoid using a function, think how to avoid a correlated query, etc.

Defrag table indexes and statistics regularly.

    Hope this helps.

  • You can click on the query id, this will open a new window with the query and its stats. Like wise you can do it for all other query id. Once you get the query either you know whats the use of you can check with some team to identify whats the use of query and tweak it.
