how to open Port 1433 in SQL Server docker container ? RRS feed

Answers

  • Your connection string specifies port 1443 rather than port 1433. Is that a typo?

The Linux docker image is pre-configured to allow remote connections (from outisde the container) so no additional steps are needed other than the run command port mapping.

  • Do you mean open port 1433 so that you can connect to the SQL Server container from your mac host? The "-p 1433:1433" on the docker run command in the tutorial maps port 1433 inside the container to port 1433 on your host so you should then be able to connect.

  • Thanks for the reply, but this is what I get when I tried to access in my spring application.

com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The TCP/IP connection to the host 192.168.1.8, port 1443

has failed. Error: "Connection refused (Connection refused). Verify the connection properties. Make sure that an instance of SQL Server is running on the host and accepting TCP/IP connections at the port. Make sure that TCP connections to the port are not blocked by a firewall.".

In management studio I used to open port 1433 TCP/IP connection how to do the same without management studio in MAC.

On my MAC I dont have firewall at all so nothing should block port 1433.

    Thanks
