To aceess filetable in the C# application: RRS feed

  • Hi,

    Once I created a filetable, how can I access the filetable in the C# application? Also, please let me know the benefits/advantages of having filetable?

  • The point with filetable is that users can store files in the database with the standard methods in Windows: drag a file from explorer. Or open them from editing. Nevertheless they would still be part of the database, and there is a single backup.

    So a C# application would typically access the filetable data as files through the Windows share. Then again, if you want transactional consistentcy, you update data through SQL statements or the OpenSqlFilestream API.
