Block *ALL* silverlight updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Would it be AT ALL possible to set MSWin7 to permanently and forever hide and block any and all Silverlight "updates"?  When I look at the list of "optional" updates available, there is ****ALWAYS**** some stupid Silverlight update there.  Doesn't matter HOW MANY times you tell it "hide this miserable P.o.S. update" it is back AGAIN the next time around.

Is it at all possible for MS to get a CLUE and stop offering the update???  Then again, seeing the way they run the rest of their business, I am certain the entire company is devoid of a single clue amongst them.

Perhaps there is some registry hack to say **I NEVER WANT SILVERLIGHT*....

  • Hi,

Please click Start and type Silverlight and open 'Microsoft Silverlight'. Then click ‘Updates’ tag, click 'Never check for updates' like the following screenshot:

    Hope this could help you.

    Best Regards,

    Jambor

  • This is **ONLY** useful if you have already installed some form of the useless-piece-of-garbage Silverlight.  But if you never want to install it in **ANY** form, then MS needs to get a clue and KILL theapplication once and for all.  It's a dead technology (as is right), therefore it should never be offered AT ALL.
