TFS - See only my work items RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

We have TFS as our official tracking tool and we want to create a new Team Project for help desk, so that people can create specific work items.

However, we want people to access only to the work items that they have created (without the possibility to see others' work items) - of course the administrators will be able to do that -

Is there a possibility for that?

We have been searching in the web and we couldn't find a solution. We have tried to look for server side handlers but there is no event type for that. We want to disable the possibility to create "My Queries" or to intercept the query results, but we are a bit lost.

    Thank you!!!

  • Hi Fede,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

According to your issue, you can use define the Area path  to configure the work items in a specific project to the area and then configure the user's permissions for the current work item. Since work item belongs to area, this process can be implemented.

However, this implementation of the process requires manual configuration and the configuration of permissions for different work items.

    Hope it could help you.

    Best Regards,

    Perry

  • Thank you for your answer!

That is one possibility. For example, a user can create work items in the area path and not be able to see work items, but if the user wants to see the state of the work item that has created, it is not possible (taking into account that the user must not see the work items created by others).

That`s our main problem. It is very useful that the user could see at any time in which state is the work item.

    Regards!
