You'll just need to use the 32bit version of SharePoint designer. As with most applications available now (including visual studio) it's not available in a 64bit flavor. The 32bit version should run fine on 64bit platforms.Monday, June 4, 2007 7:28 PM

the only problem is if you install a 64 bit version of Office (2010 Plus in my case) together with the (32 bit) SP Designer 2007 things can get somewhat complicated
eg. I wanted to install Visio 2010, but the Visio 32 bit installer tells me it won't install because I have Office 2010 in 64 bit edition installed
the 64 bit installer tells me it won't install because I have Office 2007 32 bit software installed (SP Designer 2007 is part of the Office suite)
so now I need to uninstall SP Designer 2007, install Visio in x64, then install SP Designer 2007 again...

I'm running into the same problem. I haven't found any help with this. I fear I may have to create a VM just to keep the versions separate and still be able to get work done.Monday, August 2, 2010 2:43 PM

Normally, you'd get an error message saying that you can't install Microsoft Office Designer 2007 (which is 32bit) if you have a 64bit Microsoft Office installed.
There's a very easy workaround, however. What you only have to do, is install Microsoft Office Designer 2007 into a different program folder then Microsoft Office, for instance "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Sharepoint Designer 2007".
It will then be possible to have Microsoft Office Designer 2007 (32bit) next to Microsoft Office 64bit.

This workaround is easy but very UGLY.
Is there anonther one?
