Sum of values in a chart RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I have created a SSRS dataset to extract from a cube the sales amount by month.

    I would like to display in a chart the sales amount for the month and the sum with the previous month.

    For example :

                                                          January      February     March        April
    Sales amount                                     100           150          200          250
    Sum month and previous month           100           250          450          700

    How can I calculate the sum of the month and the sum of the previous month ?

    Thank you for yours responses.

    Best Regards,

  •

    Step1: Insert Matrix

    Step2: Add Month field in Columns section and amounts in Data section.

    Step3: Add one more row (Inside Group below)

    Step4: Add below expression in the Data section of new row

    =RunningValue(Fields!Amount.Value,Sum,"RowGroup")

    Hope this will help.

    Final design will look like this.

  • Do this then

    Add Month in Category group.

    In Values

    Value1 = Sum(Amount)

    Value2= =RunningValue(sum(Fields!Amount.Value),Sum,"Chart1")

    you will exactly get what you want. I just tried it at my end.
