How can i deploy SharePoint 2010 solution to 2013

    Question

  • Hello,

i just purchased the windows azure server and deployed Sharepoint 2013 server. I developed some custom features (few list event receivers) with sharepoint 2010 on my local server. When i moved the .wsp pakages to server 2013 and deployed there, they were not working.

i already changed the folder name "14.0" to "15.0" in manifest.xml file.

is there anyway that i can debug the solution on windows azure and any other way to trace the bug?

  • Why not upgrade the WSP to 2013 using Visual Studio 2012? There's an option to import sharepoint 2010 wsp that will handle it for you.

    • Install Visual Studio 2012
    • Create a new solution
    • Under SharePoint 2013 select "Import SharePoint 2010 Solution"

  • actually, i was asking about remote development like i can develop features locally and deploy them on remote server. fortunately i found this "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj220047.aspx" but unfortunately i can't debug the event receivers which i was required, anyway thanks for the help.
