InfoPath is going away, so what do we use? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We are trying to create a couple different forms/workflows on our SharePoint online site (leave request, expense request/approval, travel request, employee self service, and help desk) and we see that InfoPath is no longer going to be supported. So what should we be using to create the forms we need? We would like to avoid paying for any third party apps.

  • Hi Lambert,

Microsoft announced that the InfoPath Forms Services technology within Office 365 will be maintained and it will function until further notice.

So at the present stage, users can also use InfoPath to customize forms in SharePoint Online.

Besides, there are some alternatives to InfoPath for SharePoint forms for your reference, check the article below:

    Best regards,

    Grace Wang

  • Hey Lambert,

Take a look at ClaySys AppForms. It's a lowcode tool for building forms and workflows. The custom applications you mentioned such as leave request, expense tracker etc. are already as pre-built templates that you can just import and start using immediately.
