Answers

  • The RSS Viewer web part is in the Content Rollup category, not Media and Content.

  • You need to Activate site collection feature "SharePoint Server Standard Site Collection features".

  • You don't mention which version of SharePoint 2013 you're running, but this Microsoft article may help: RSS feeds from external sites to your site

  • I'm currently trying to do same thing.  I've activated the site collection feature and trying to use this within the public site. The web part doesn't show up as an option under "content rollup" or any of the categories.

At the top level under Web Part Gallery it does, of course, show up.  But in my public site, if I try to add a webpart to a page, it's not listed.

  • You have to add it to the public site.

Look for "Using the RSS Feed Viewer Web Part To Show 365 Content On Another Site" in this blog»

  • For RSS Viewer Webpart to show under Content Rollup....you need to open Central Admin, under Upgrade and Migration - click on

Enable Features on Existing Sites | and check the box and say OK.....RSS Viewer web part will appear under content rollup!

  • I don't think I can get to Central Admin on SharePoint Online.  Maybe that's the answer for a local SharePoint deploy however?

  • You can't access central admin in SPO 2013 and like I said above the rss viewer isn't included in the PUBLIC site web parts. So you have to get it form the team site gallery and import it.

  • Go to the Site collection features, and enable the SharePoint Server Enterprise Site Collection Feature as this is an enterprise feature and RSS Viewer Web Parts will appear under Content Rollup.

  • You can't access site collection features in the SPO PUBLIC site settings. And why is the wrong answer marked as correct above?

3rd attempt: You have to export the web part from a team site and "upload web part"into the public site. Or you can get the web part here »
