Since Microsoft officially dropped support for PHP 8 and won't provide any binaries for it, will the same be true for Wincache? Or will you continue maintaining Wincache for PHP 8 and future versions?

You might ask if there won't be PHP 8 for Windows, then what's the point of keeping Wincache for PHP 8?

Well, in detail they announced that they will no longer create the Windows builds for PHP 8 for https://php.net/ but they explicitly said they would expect someone else to continue doing so, so nothing would really change for the PHP users.
I also remember that Microsoft was not officially building / supporting Wincache for a while now and that the people who do actually do it in their spare time. So I wondered if these volunteers are planning to continue to do so, or if they see Microsofts official PHP 8 statement as a reason to discontinue Wincache support too.
Since nobody replied, I think we can assume that Wincache will probably not be maintained anymore and thus will cease to function in PHP 8 and all future versions.

The code is checked into the php.net git repo, and anyone who wishes to take over for maintaining it is more than welcome to get involved.
I'd highly recommend subscribing to the PHP INTERNALS mail alias, as well as getting familiar with the steps to build PHP for Windows.

I'm a bit confused by all of this because windows.php.net has not stopped posting builds for Windows under PHP 8. In fact, the most recent version of PHP 8 is already available for Windows on that website, which is where the Windows builds have always been made available. They were never posted for download directly on the main php.net website.

The PHP community seems to take over the responsibilities to publish PHP binaries for Windows, but not clear what else they might work on and whether Windows Cache extension is included.

As Microsoft withdrew its resources, it requires somebody to step in and fork the project. However, no one has done that yet,
