Unable to open InfoPath form on the browser

Answers

  • hello Vijayaragavan,

definitely a browser issue, i've seen this A LOT in firefox, where it would open some forms, and throw the same error you got on other times!

-make sure you use IE with sharepoint (check SharePoint browser compatibility) as other browsers would have some feature not functioning as supposed to.

-Add the SharePoint site to trusted sites (Internet options> Security tab> Trusted sites)

-re-publish your form, and make sure the "Enable this form to be filled out by using a browser" is checked.

  • HI Vijayaragavan,

You need to use design checker at bottom right of InfoPath form if its compatible for Browser.

Compatibility setting in Design a Form Template dialog box

Let me know if it helps...

    thanks,

  • Thanks for the response. Like I said, not all the users are facing this issue. I have checked this option as well.

  • What version of IE are they using, can you open the form in IE Compatibility mode and try again.

  • Hi V, I'm sure this is a browser issue, not an InfoPath/SP one. Are the people getting the error using a browser other than IE? Also check compatability in IE.

  • Hi,

i just wanted to share my solution and issue that i had, maybe it will help:

issue: some users were not able to open infopath forms using IE on their computers, but on other computers they were able to (computers with windows 7 64bit ie 11; some were updated to day some were not). On windows 8 did not had this issue

solution: is seems that a simple adding of the website to trusted sites solved the issue.

i repeat, this solution worked for the issue i had, where some could open and some could not. May notapply if your issue is different...

    All the best!
