Setting Up a Server Machine


  • Client in America needs to share/upload files to a Server and the employees in India needs to work. Here the Client will have write/read/view permission , but employees have only read and view permission.  How can set up this using Azure

  • Suggest you to check Azure File is suitable for you environment. If you mount the file share by using SMB, you don't have folder-level control over permissions. However, if you create a shared access signature by using the REST API or client libraries, you can specify read-only or write-only permissions on folders within the share. see if it helps. If not, give more background on your scenario for us to understand better and assist you accordingly.

  • You can also do this by creating a Windows VM, create users with different permissions (NTFS permissions) at the folders.

    The same can be accomplished with linux vms
