Setting alert for customized view in SharePoint 2010 library RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created a customized view with some filters in SharePoint 2010 document library. I want to create a alert specific to this view and not to the entire library. How can I do this? Please share your ideas.

    1. Go to the list you need to create an alert on.
    2. Click "List" in the ribbon to see "Alert Me" in the ribbon. Click on "Alert Me" -> "Set alert on this list"
    3. On the new alert window, go to the section "Send Alerts for These Changes". In this section you can select "Someone changes an item that appears in the following view" and then you can select the view you want to be alerted on.

    Hope that helps
