How do I track onboarded devices on a map? RRS feed

  • Hello Unexperienced,

We have a product at Microsoft called "Azure IoT". It allows you to enroll devices for a secure connection for tracking. We have a simple to understand example at MyDriving – An Azure IOT and Mobile sample application | Azure Blog and Updates | Microsoft Azure

I would need more details about what you are trying to track and how you expect to track it to be of further assistance. If you are not a developer, you might want to reach out to Dynamics 365 as they have fleet tracking already built in as an option. You can scroll to the bottom of for ways to reach out to that team.

However, if this is just a personal project you can build a simple application on a phone and enroll that to report it's location as demonstrated in this Github project.

Last but not least, if you are building your solution from the ground up, Microsoft offers the Power Platform that can assist with cross platform support and we have a preview of an interactive map available here: Interactive map component (Preview) - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs

Finally, the simplest tracking solution involves so fairly basic steps:

    1. Decide what device will be providing the GPS coordinates
    2. Set that device to transmit those co-ordinates and record them in a data base
    3. Build a dashboard, such as Power BI, to view and track that data

From your very short statement above, I am not clear what help you need so hopefully one or all of the links I provided will give you the answers you are looking for.
