File Tag Read + Write? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

This is a super noob qeustion, but, I have yet to obtain the single best solution. So, I am looking for a standard way to add tags to any files. This is possible using Windows Explore. Is there a way I can do it without Windows Explore? I mean, I have reading around, but, they are all specialized in specific file format. I am not interested in metadata, NO artist NO exposure, and etc. I don't want to read/modify any of them. I am only interested in standard tags. I am only interested to read + write tags to arbitrary image/video/text/unkown files.

Am I limited to using some kind of Shell command in Windows? Or I can do it without Shell? If it I have to use Shell, what command should I use?

    Thank you for answering.
