Is it possible to know if the published version is the latest working version? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

If I am using PWA, is there any way to know that the published version of the project that I am accessing is close or similar to the latest 'working' version that the project manager is working on?

    Thanks,

    Izumi.

  • Just wanted to understand what do you mean by "Close or Similar", because all data propagates to reporting database only when project is published, before that it remains in draft DB, so for comparison you would need to get the information from this Draft DB,
But since except "Reporting" no other DB is documented, hence tapping in those DB for data is not recommended

  • Hi Izumi,

As a alternative, I can suggest you can create a custom report making your working store(Draft DB) as data source, then you can fetch the project attributes from there what ever you need to compare that report with your project center view.

All you have to do just develop a report, create a custom link in quick launch to that report else add a "Page Viewer WebPart" in the page which will link to your report.

So by this way you can have two different versions of your projects on single page.
