Error in VS 2012 when adding External Content Type for ODATA source RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have SharePoint 2013 RTM and VS 2012 RTM installed on Windows server 2008 R2 SP1. I am following the steps of this MSDN article: msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj163967(v=office.15).aspx on creating an external content type from an OData source in SP 2013. At the end of the Customization Wizard, after I have selected the entities and click "Finish", I receive an error that says "No entities or function imports were found. BDC model will not be generated."

I have tried using the data source in the article, I have also tried using other public Microsoft OData sources, and I have tried with my own OData source. Same error every time. Any ideas?

  • This appears to be an issue with the RTM versions of VS 2012: http://benredl.wordpress.com/2012/11/08/external-list-using-an-odata-source-in-sharepoint-2013-based-on-a-farm-wide-bcd-model/. Microsoft, is their a timeline for fix?
