Alleviate Client Not Trusted error without HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry entry RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a Silverlight control and a Persistent Chat add-in web app to retrieve ChatRoom information (user, uri, etc).  Is there any way to trust the app without the HKEY_CURRENT_USER zone key, or, putting the key(s) in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE?  I've tried a few different combinations of intranet/trusted site IE zones to no avail.

  • Hi,

I had previously tried using HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to no avail.  I believe HKEY_CURRENT_USER is the only route to go on this.

You can create a GPO in your Active Directory configuration to roll out this value to all users in your environment.
