Library Ribbon Visibility on Site Page RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a site page with Web Parts pointing to two different document libraries.  The ribbon is visible after adding the libraries and saving the page.  However, once I publish the page, the ribbon no longer becomes visible when setting the focus on one of the libraries.  Is there a way around this behavior?

  • Hi ,

When adding more than one web part on a site page ,the Ribbon will be hidden on page load .When you select a web part ,the ribbon will show up .It is like the list view selector .When there are more than one web parts on a page ,the list view selector will be hidden .This is hard coded behind . As for the Ribbon ,you can use JavaScript to set a web part as selected be default ,in this way  the ribbon will appear .Or you can edit the web part to show Toolbar to use the traditional toolbar like in SharePoint 2007 .

For more information ,please refer to this site:

  • Hi Etan,

I was overlooking the obvious.  That is, the "Enable / Hide Ribbon" button on the site actions menu.

    Thanks!!
