Why does my Excel add-in show as both a COM add-in and an Excel add-in RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have created an Excel add-in with a number of User Defined Functions which I wish to distribute to other users. Everything works fine, but it shows up twice on my add-in list. Once as a COM Add-in. Once as an Excel Add-in. I would like to understand what is going on before I distribute it. Can anyone explain why it is there twice? Is that a problem?

    The add-in was developed in C# using Excel-DNA (https://excel-dna.net/)

    Thanks,

    Ethan

Note that the two ExcelSequenceManipulation Add-ins are in the same location

  • Hello Ethan Strauss,

Since Excel-DNA is a third-part application, I will suggest you contact their support team for help. For the current thread, I will move it to Off-Topic  forum.

    Thanks for understanding,

    Best Regards,

    Terry
