Using Access application w/o Access loaded RRS feed

  • Question

  • Have a simple application for book selectors to track their budgets. The application has a Form frontend and the buttons are for reports.

The application is on our network on a shared drive. For staff without Access loaded on their machines, what can I do to grant them access.

  • You'll need the Access runtime to get it work. Please install the corresponding version of Access runtime. e.g 2010 runtime can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=10910

  • Forrest is correct, but there is one more important point: per best practices you should split the application and have the FE on each user's workstation, not on a shared drive. This is a FAQ so you should not have any problem finding information in your favorite search engine.
