  • What you can do with a contact card is discussed at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee909466.aspx

    Hi,

I am trying to change what the Call button on the Contact Card does with VBA or an add-in. I want to start an application when the call button is clicked.

Anyone knows if that is possible?

Here is the screen shot of the Contact Card UI that I want to change.

  • Thanks for the reply. I can use this but my question was a little different. Can I change the existing action of the menu items or the buttons on the card with my custom methods? For instance, I want a window from my add-in to appear when the IM icon is clicked.

    Is that possible?

    Thanks.

  • Not as far as I know. As far as I know the only things you can do with the cards are what's in that article.

  • I think of a solution. When you hover over the IM and Phone icons on the contact card, Outlook says that I need to sign in to an instant messaging program. AFAIK these are Windows Messenger, MSN Messenger and Exchange IM Service. Is it possible to develop a program compatible with Outlook instant messaging system?

  • I suppose it would be, if you want to go to that extent. That's out of scope for this group of course, and I know nothing about developing instant messaging services.
