SharePoint online test system for company RRS feed

  • Question

  • Trying to find the norm for this.

Is it common to have a test system with sharepoint online in a different domain with different tenant.

Can two different domains share the same tenant of ad users

For testing we are thinking of having different domain and do our testing and then use sharegate to migrate from test domain to production.

    Any thoughts

  • Hi kman589,

One Azure AD tenant only can be attached to a single Office 365 tenant.

I am afraid that we cannot attach the Azure AD to different tenants.

You could consider using Azure AD B2B Collaboration options, it allows users from different organizations to share data and collaborate with each other within applications.

  • yes, this is usual practice to test on different tenants. Developers may have their own dev tenants and develop features there without risk to break something in production. Also testing on different tenant will ensure that features will work as expected on customers tenants when they will install it.
