I know I read this article too late but I can see no one has answered this.
You can make bookmarks visible same way as you do in Word 2003 by going to:
>> Office Button
>> Word Options (on the bottom of menu)
>> Scroll down a bit and goto Show Document Content Options
>> Select Show Bookmarks checkbox

I have a really tough question. How do you do this with a keyboard shortcut? I've searched all over the "documentation" and haven't found a keyboard shortcut for "Show Bookmarks."
I know it must be well hidden and that MS wouldn't expect one to have to search for it in Word Options in the day of the glorious Office Ribbon...
