Task approval only by assigned person RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are using workflow 2013 to create approval processes for documents in Office 365 Sharepoint, although we have noticed that even if a task is assigned to a specific person, anyone with rights to edit the document are able to approve it.

Is there a way to make that only a person who is assigned for the task would be able to approve it?

    Thank you!

  • Hi,

Anyone having approve permission will be able to approve the documents. You need to setup item permissions in the task list so that the "Assigned to" user alone gets "approve" permission

And If you're using a custom task or approval process in a Designer workflow, if you edit the task process, there's an option under settings to "Only allow task recipients and process owners to read and edit workflow tasks."
