hi everyone,
We have a question about the canonical tag generated by SharePoint for friendly url’s.
E.g. <link
rel="canonical"
href=https://www.test.com:443/mylink
/>
We have an internet site with friendly url’s using the termstore (SharePoint 2013).
We have several pages with more than only one friendly url, however, on each page the canonical tag shows the link to it’s own url, whereas canonical tags are supposed to be used to avoid duplicate content(?). We
expect 1 canonical tag for multiple friendly url's (for the same page).
This does not seem to make sense and is not good for our Search Engine Optimization (SEO). We would like to know if this behavior is by default(?) or if there’s anything we can to change this (preferably without
custom coding..)
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
Best regards, Wilko
