Sending email from Access VBA that requires feedback RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm looking to automate sending emails to contact where the email contains buttons for Accept, Deny and Maybe.  What is the best way to send these emails and automate the feedback into a table in the access database.  Is outlook required for this?

  • This isn't something that can be done with Access.

Better using a 3rd party survey tool and import the results into your database once they are compiled.

Another option would be to send Word or Excel documents that they fill out and return.  Your could use VBA to read them and import the responses.

  • That is MUCH harder than you might expect. The solution (an Outlook add-in) requires expert coding skills and a solid understanding of the Outlook object model, as well as database I/O.

Maybe there is another way, like using one of the many online survey applications like SurveyMonkey?
