Excel cached files RRS feed

  • Question

  •   Hi Team,

I found the Excel application always put the cached copies of the Excel workbooks in a system folder:

    C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO

I have to run large number of Excels in a server, I receive disk is full error time to time. Can we change the folder or can we disable the cache?

  • I'm not sure that you can, but you can make script to kill them/files from time to time.

This is my solution for Outlook temporary files.

Try to use it for youre self.

  • Thank you Oskar.

The files in that folder can be deleted, correct? I saw different types of files, what is the deleting strategy? My concern is whether there is any risk if I delete the wrong files.

  • The same job makes cleaning program - like CCleaner or another.

Make a copy (for safe) and try it ;]
